TrafficTRAFFIC

Regarding improved bus connections, initial success has already been achieved: The City of Lüneburg, supported by Leuphana University, has moved the express bus stop from the opposite side of Scharnhorststrasse to the side of the street along the campus. This way, students and visitors to the University no longer need to cross the street to get to campus, as a result of which a considerable risk of accident is likely to be eliminated.

In the future, that is after completion of construction of the new central building, a new express bus stop will be built on Uelzener Strasse just in front of the central building’s new entrance. Buses will probably return to Scharnhorststrasse via the campus and from there via Uelzener Strasse and Willi Brand Strasse to the train station.

For its realization, the Leuphana Express via Rail project still needs partners who can support the trains’ operation and the volume of commuter train traffic. The University has made all the required content-related preparations and is willing to realize this project if appropriate partnership is available.
