This page should answer common questions and describe the special features of the business psychology degree at Leuphana University Lüneburg.
Courses in the Leuphana Semester?
In addition to their courses in the interdisciplinary modules of the Leuphana Semester, “Responsibility in Science“, “Science Makes History” and “Science Makes Use of Methods (interdisciplinary), students who are majoring in Business Psychology select from the following subject-specific lectures:
Module – Science has disciplinary boundaries. Introduction to Business Psychology
- Lecture “Introduction to Business Psychology”
Module – Science Makes Use of Methods. Foundations und Methods of Business Psychology
- Lecture “Observation in Psychology“
- Lecture “Measurement in Psychology“
Please be careful when planning your schedule for the modules that the class times do not overlap. Please note also that your registration through myStudy determines only your participation in a course. You must register separately in order to receive credit for having completed the course requirements (i.e. examinations). You can find all information concerning registration for exams as well as all deadlines through links from the central examination office at the beginning of the semester.
Study abroad?
Living in a foreign country gives you life experience and improves your language skills. Studying abroad is, therefore, strongly supported by the Executive Committee and all the faculties.
The fifth semester is particularly well suited for studying abroad. You can find out in the International Office which partner universities and exchange programs Leuphana has for business psychology majors.
What does the practical project involve?
The business psychology major includes a four-week internship (5 credit points). The internship can be combined with two modules from the “projects and practices” perspective in the comprehensive studies program and thereby expanded to run at least 10 weeks. Students must write an internship report and participate in an internship forum. In order to successfully satisfy the internship module requirements, you must also have completed thirty research subject hours over the course of your Bachelor studies. The module is ungraded.
At the earliest, the internship may be carried out subsequent to the third semester. The subject matter of the Bachelor essay may be linked to the internship.
You can find further information concerning the practical project in the central examination office.
