The Doctoral Collegia: Dialogue and Advice

The doctoral commission assigns every doctoral candidate to one doctoral collegium for the duration of his or her doctoral studies. The doctoral collegium forms the academic framework for individual dissertation projects and provides candidates with communal advising and faculty support. Furthermore, it coordinates the "research methods" module and the disciplinary research colloquia where regular dialogues between advisors and candidates bring together related disciplines and independent fields. In the third and fifth semester, every PhD project presented will be discussed and assessed by the advisors in the collegia.
The doctoral collegia are grounded in three thematic fields that represent the research strengths of Leuphana University Lüneburg: Arts & Science with an emphasis on sustainability studies, cultural studies, and political science; Management and Entrepreneurship with a total of six concentrations and Education, which also includes teacher training.
