Evaluation of the quality of the master's programsEVALUATION OF THE QUALITY OF
THE MASTER'S PROGRAMS

Are the Graduate School’s Master’s degrees recognized and accredited by the state?

All master's programs offered at Leuphana Graduate School are recognized by the state and accredited by the accreditation agency ACQUIN.

Do study periods abroad form part of the master’s programs?

Leuphana University of Lüneburg maintains partnership relations with many foreign universities. On the International Office homepage you will find detailed information on different ways of studying abroad and the respective funding opportunities. It is generally possible and requested to have any academic performance achieved abroad recognized. Since study periods abroad are not compulsory in the Leuphana master’s programs, such periods must be organized by the students themselves. Further details should be discussed with the advisor of the student’s major discipline.

Additional information is provided in the handbook Leitfaden Auslandssemester [in PDF format, german].

What group size can I expect in my major?

Leuphana Graduate School attaches great value to a good student-lecturer relationship. Since you will join different master’s groups as part of an interdisciplinary program, it is not possible to specify the general size of groups. On average large courses have no more than 50-60 participants, whereas in many courses the number of participants is much smaller smaller.

The Complementary Studies program, in which all master’s students of the same year level (except for students enrolled in the Teacher Training program) come together for joint studies, represents an exception. However, large lectures within this program are supplemented by small group tutorials. The same applies to the Management Studies program, in which students from all majors within the Management & Entrepreneurship master’s program come together.

Where can I get an overview of the course offerings?

In the bottom section of the webpage of each program of study, you will find a link to the program’s curriculum. Each module will be introduced by providing a short description of its content. Within programs in which students can choose a minor you can download a special curriculum for each major-minor combination.

If you want to get an idea of what an ordinary day as a student is like, you can participate in an individual sampler program. You will find more information and an overview of all offerings on the sampler course pages.

Who teaches on the xy master’s program?

We have prepared a list of all full-time lecturers teaching on each master’s program. This list contains links to the respective faculty websites, where you can find contact information and further details. You will find the link to the faculty list at the bottom of each program’s homepage.

Are there special conditions for students with children or for working students?

The master’s programs offered at Leuphana Graduate School are designed as four semester full-time programs. Part-time study is principally possible and can be arranged in consultation with the student’s advisor. For more information, please visit the part-time studies pages.

Combining family, work and study poses a central issue for both students and employees at Leuphana. To succeed in accomplishing this task, the University provides various facilities, for example a number of child-care centers.
