Within the scope of the Innovation Incubator, a major EU project, Leuphana University of Lüneburg has launched a transdisciplinary research and development project with a focus on digital media.
The Moving Image Lab and the Art and Civic Media project aim to study new forms of moving image production and circulation on the Internet as well as their social relevance. Whereas the Post-Media Lab is looking at developments and trends in critical net culture, the SEM-A² project is setting up processes for search engine advertising targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises. Other projects are currently being developed.
The projects are expected to give a strong impetus to the regional economy by establishing the infrastructure for the development, production and distribution of digital content. To pursue this goal, project members are collaborating with regional and supra-regional partners.
The focus on digital media is associated with the Institute for Culture and Aesthetics of Digital Media of Leuphana University of Lüneburg.
In 2011, the “explainity education project” – belonging to the Moving Image Lab – won the price of German economy films with the film “Rating agencies – easily explained”.
