LCE 2016

Key Note Speakers

Every year LCE invites internal and external Key Note Speakers to present their research and experiences to a wider audience in order to contribute to and benefit from the general objective of knowledge transfer and interaction between peers and colleagues.

In 2016 the key notes of Professor Jay Mitra  (Essex Business School) and Professor Jeffrey York  (University of Colorado, Boulder, U.S.A) were among the highlights of the conference. They mainly discussed sustainable entrepreneurship in context of economy and ecology. In addition, Anna Kaiser  from „tandemploy.com“, a start-up business from the EXIST IV programme, gave insights about founding the first online full-service jobsharing agency worldwide.

Elevator Pitch Competition

Every year the LCE also invites current students of the Leuphana Master Programme "Management and Entrepreneurship" to participate in the Elevator Pitch Competition. A selected number of students are encouraged to form business teams and develop a business idea which then will be presented in front of a distinguished jury with representatives from both science and economy.

With the kind support of NBank, who offered monetary awards to the winners, the following teams could convince the jury with their presentations in 2016:

Jury Award - Team „Mey Go“ designed re-usable, refillable silicone food pouches.

Audience Award - Team „Welcome and Learning Center“, a Welcome Centre for refugees.

Social Business Award - Team „Fruitloop“ established a network for fruit picking.

Workshops

Another fundamental aspect of LCE are the numerous workshops with partner companies, field experts and students of Leuphana University.
