DFG-Exzellenzinitiative

In October 2007 the ZDEMO signed a cooperation agreement with Jacobs University Bremen to cooperate in the "Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences" that is funded in the framework of an excellence initiative by the Federal government and the Länder with  €5 million over the course of five years.

The ZDEMO will participate in the training of PhD students within comparative politics and democracy studies. These are open to students from both Jacobs University as well as Leuphana University. The joint efforts to improve graduate education will also involve organizing international Summer Schools for training in research methods and data analysis.
