Northern German Network Democracy Studies (NND)

The Northern German Network for Democracy Studies (NND) aims at supporting research and academic exchange in the field of democracy research. It does so by connecting institutes and departments of political science at the University of Bremen, the Jacobs University Bremen, the University of Greifswald, the University of Hamburg, the Leibniz University of Hanover and the Leuphana University Lüneburg. The ZDEMO is coordinating the network while the participating institutions are registered as associated members of the Center. 

Central part of the network's activities is to organize regular PHD seminars and training workshops. Invited to these are young researchers from the different partner institutions, who can not only present and discuss their theses and the state of affairs in democracy research and methods, but also learn about more general professional and practical aspects of doing a PHD in political science and entering academic life in Europe.
