Boards that mean the world

Save the Leinwig Theatre: 2007 case study

Students were asked to develop concepts for saving the theatre in the fictitious town of Leinwig from impending closure. The student project teams had five days to develop ideas for a sustainable vision for the future. What role does theatre play in the town? What might a viable financing concept look like? How can an attractive programme be developed?


Over the course of the 2007 Opening Week, experts from the theatre and culture sector gave interviews and tips to the teams, while the Leuphana staff assisted with research and presentations. At the end of the week, all the freshers came together to present their case study findings. There was praise, argument, a lot of ideas and a lot of applause.
