Leuphana scientists among the world's top 1%

2019-12-02 Prof. Dr. Berta Martin-Lopez and Prof. Dr. David Abson are among the most cited researchers in the world, according to Clarivate Analytics' "Highly Cited Researchers" report.

Berta Martin-Lopez Berta Martin-Lopez is assistant professor of Sustainability Science at the Institute for Ethics and Transdisciplinary Sustainability Research. In her research, she explores the role of values, knowledge and institutions in supporting the social transition to sustainability. She is editor-in-chief of the journal "Ecosystems and People", Co-Chair of the Programme of Ecosystem Change and Society (PECS) and participates in the "Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services" (IPBES).

David Abson is assistant professor of Sustainability Economics and Valuation at the Center for Sustainability Management. His research focuses on agro-ecosystems, resilience and ecological modeling.

The information system "Clarivate Analytics" evaluates the so-called "Core Collection" of the Web of Science. For this year's "Highly Cited Researchers" report, publications that appeared between 2008 and 2018 were considered, with a total of 12 million publications from more than 12,000 scientific journals. The researchers included in the report are among the world's top 1% and most influential researchers in terms of the number of papers categorized by the Web of Science as "highly cited".
