Master’s program Competition & Regulation takes place in a new format

07/25/2016 The Master’s program Competition & Regulation LL.M. is getting restructured, three years after the launch of the program. Starting in the winter semester 2016/2017 the study program will have three intensive study phases and online phases. During the intensive study phases renown scientists will give a comprehensive introduction into legal and economic issues of the competition and regulation law as well as the competition and regulation economics.

Furthermore, students learn in webinars from practitioners important tricks and gimmicks when working in this particular legal field. At the same time, they can set up their individual professional network. Additionally, the online format is tailor-made for the needs of the students. Crucial parts of the study program are repeated there. Especially the economic issues are prepared by online tutorial in order for the students to memorize and internalize them.

The legal world is becoming increasingly complex and it is often very difficult to distinguish law and economics. That is why lawyer have to understand economic reasoning and debates. This interdisciplinary study program prepares them to counter this challenge

Besides that, the work in the field of competition and regulation law is primarily taking place on a European level and is dealing with companies that are operating on a global level. Consequently, the study program is entirely in English to teach students right from the start to necessary technical terms. Graduates of the program will be perfectly prepared for the professional market. Lawyers and law graduate will gain their unique selling proposition after having studied the Competition & Regulation LL.M. which makes them highly attractive for law firms, public administration or companies that are working in this field.

The application deadline for the program is August 15th. It is also possible to start the program in the summer semester (application deadline February 15th). The intensive study phases are taking place in October, April and June. The class starting in the winter semester 2016/2017 has its first classroom session from October 1st to October 8th 2016. The other intensive study phases are from April 1st to April 5th 2017 as well as from June 16th to June 20th 2017.

Applicants have to hold a first university degree in law, sophisticated English language skills and first professional experience in this field in order to be eligible.
