Masters kick-off and preparatory courses in October at the Graduate School

09/12/2016 For new students at the Leuphana Graduate School, the semester starts with the Masters Kick-off on 6th October. With a range of sociable preparatory courses, the Leuphana welcomes the masters students who have enrolled in the current winter semester.

The President Prof. (HSG) Dr. Sascha Spoun and the Vice President of the Graduate School, Prof. Dr. Markus Reihlen, will welcome the students. At the Masters Kick-off, the new masters students can also expect to find a wide-ranging offer of informative presentations on their studies, an information fair where the services and facilities of the Leuphana will be presented, as well as a detailed introduction to their chosen study programme by the course leaders for the major subjects. As part of the Masters Kick-off, the Graduate School will also be issuing the LeuphanaCard which can be used on the same day as a method of payment in the cafeteria.

In the scope of the preparatory courses on offer from 10th until 14th October, introductory courses for the different study programmes are taking place. The Library will offer an introductory course which is aimed at all of the new masters students: In addition to the guided tour of the facilities, Library Manager Anne Christensen will hold a presentation focusing on the possibilities surrounding the digital use of the media collection in relation to the challenging research tasks in the masters courses.
At informal introductory events, the Major Advisors for the major subjects as well as teaching staff and also students studying in the more advanced semesters will provide you with words of welcome and advice for the start of your studies at the Leuphana Graduate School.  The student representatives are also participating in the preparatory courses:  They are organising the welcome parties hosted by students for new students.

Advance registration is required for the majority of the events.
