Innovative career pathways

Graduate School support for postdocs

Alongside teaching and research, supporting the overall development of the next generation of researchers is one of the core tasks of any university. It is part of the institution's responsibility for young researchers' academic careers. The postdoc phase is crucial, as the first year or two after your doctorate set the course for your future career. An academic institution can and should provide systematic support as you progress through this stage.

Leuphana University of Lüneburg is committed to promoting the independence of its postdoc researchers from an early stage. That is why the University offers its researchers a wide range of support and development options to enable them to make the best possible use of the opportunities and freedom available to them immediately following their doctorate, and to shape their career path in a creative and innovative way.

Qualification Fund

Postdoctoral researchers at Leuphana can access financial support for training and development events such as conferences or research visits. There are three opportunities each year to submit funding applications to the Leuphana Graduate School.

GradSkills – Skills and career development

Leuphana offers a comprehensive range of continuing education courses for developing interdisciplinary skills. These are open to academics at all levels and prepare you for careers within and beyond scientific and academic institutions. The courses available are listed in the GradSkills portal.

Summer School

In collaboration with the mentoring programmes, the Graduate School organises an annual summer school for female researchers. This year's summer school will take place from 20 to 22 September. Registration is possible from 1 July.
