DESCRIPTION:Group work is quite common in academic and other professional c
 ontexts. Many, if not most, people probably learn how to work together by s
 imply doing so repeatedly, in different contexts. By trial and error, they 
 eventually figure out how to get stuff done and how to deal with a wide ran
 ge of challenges, for example, interpersonal conflict, miscommunication, mi
 ssed deadlines, or suboptimal results. Many of these common challenges asso
 ciated with group work can be avoided, and great results can be achieved, b
 y following basic principles, implementing basic strategies, and using digi
 tal collaboration tools.This workshop addresses these dimensions and aims t
 o prepare participants for group work at university and beyond. More specif
 ically, it introduces participants to key principles and best practices for
  collaborative writing projects. Among other outcomes, participants will de
 velop a basic understanding of collaborative writing and related approaches
  and practices, and they will reflect on their roles as leaders and contrib
 utors to group projects.
