Information Systems, especially quantitative methods and software development


The research area "Quantitative Methods and Software Development" deals with software solutions to support data-driven decision making in economics. The focus is on the application of mathematical-statistical methods for pattern recognition.


Within the framework of the Bachelor's programme, the professorship is responsible for courses on the subjects of "Software Development", "Data Mining" and "Data Warehousing" in the major "Business Informatics".
In the Master's programme "Data Science" the module "Forecasting and Simulation" is offered.

Final Thesis

The department regularly supervises Bachelor's and Master's theses on the topics listed above.
