Business Management, in Particular Tourism Management

Tourism management has been offered at the Leuphana University Lüneburg since 1992. Professor Dr. Edgar Kreilkamp retired in April 2018. The range of studies in the field of tourism has been largely discontinued.

Currently Prof. Kreilkamp is a guest researcher at the Leuphana University Lüneburg. He continues to supervise ongoing dissertations and is involved in research.

In tourism research, the focus is on trend research and currently especially on the topic of "sustainability in tourism". Within the framework of the project "Green Travel Transformation" funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the necessary conditions are being developed to increase the share of sustainable travel in the tour operator market. The aim of the BMBF-funded project "Green Tourism" is to assess the sustainability of the entire tourism chain. For more information, please go to "Research and Projects" in the left-hand navigation column.

For an overview of publications, activities and press articles, please go to the website of the individual members of the team.

In autumn 2019 an article on the topic of sustainability in holiday travel examining the difference between wish and reality was published.
