The department of macroeconomics (JProf. Dr. Jörg Schwiebert) is concerned with macroeconomic research questions from areas such as labor market research, inequality research, monetary policy, fiscal policy, international trade and growth theory. The primary focus of the department lies in applied microeconometrics.  In particular, macroeconomic relationships are analyzed using individual level data (personal, household or firm level data). Among other things, microeconometric estimation methods are developed which are suitable for the analysis of macroeconomic relationships.
