On behalf of the Presidential Committee, the International Office coordinates the university's international partnerships, it sponsors and organizes academic exchanges and it supports measures to further the internationalization of the university in education, teaching and research.

The core responsibilities of the International Office include in particular:

  • Contractual obligations with foreign partner universities and the maintenance of these partnerships
  • The organization of academic exchange programs including the acquisition of stipends and third-party funds
  • The support of faculty, the College and the Graduate School in internationalization efforts
  • Advising researchers interested in initiating and establishing international cooperation projects
  • Advising students and researchers regarding individual study, research, and teaching positions abroad
  • Mentoring international students and guest professors
