DESCRIPTION:Claudia Cabrera (Mexico City, b. 1970) has been translating non
 -fiction and specialized texts from German since 1995, and fiction and play
 s since 2002. For several years, she has devoted herself to translating ant
 i-fascist literature written in exile. In 2020, she received Mexico’s Natio
 nal Translation Prize for her translation of Arnold Zweig’s *Das Beil von W
 andsbek*. Her new translations of Anna Seghers’ works written in exile (*Tr
 ánsito*, *La séptima cruz*, and *La excursión de las niñas muertas*) were p
 ublished by La Cifra in Mexico between 2020 and 2024. In 2024, she was awar
 ded the Goethe Medal in Weimar.
