Do I have to be good in German to participate?

No, we recommend having at least an A2 level.

What does a typical meeting look like?

One or two tutors will start the German language café and speak German. They have a starter topic prepared to get the conversations going. The café is not a lesson. It is more like a relaxed talk over a cup of coffee while having the native speakers by your side to help with difficulties.

Why should I participate?

The café allows you to meet new learners from different countries, to talk in German (don’t be afraid of making mistakes!) and to learn with native speakers.

How can I participate?

The language café currently takes place online via Zoom. There is no pre-registration necessary. Just join the Zoom-meeting at the announced time.

    Series of talks– Language Snacks

In summer semester of 2021, we are organizing a new lecture series with a wide variety of topics related to language (learning).

We are aware of the overwhelming workload of many students and teachers due to the Corona related online format. However, we will use a more interactive approach to the weekly topics with our "Language Snacks".

    How will the talks work?

Speakers and students will focus on a specific topic for a maximum of 20 minutes. There will be opportunities for interaction, but of course you can also participate as a silent listener.

What language will the talks be in?

The primary language of the talks will be English. If talks are given in another language, this will be indicated.

    What topics will be covered?

All topics for the summer semester 2021 have not yet been determined. However, possible topics include self-learning opportunities for both beginners and advanced learners, reports on the experiences of language-learning students, and talks in various languages.

    How can I participate?

Please send us a short email with which event(s) you plan to attend.  You can also inform us about any questions and/or areas of interest. Of course, being spontaneous is also possible. You simply use the following zoomlink:
