French, Italian, Portuguese & Spanish:

  • Written part: The C-test (gap text in the target language) can be taken free of charge during the opening hours of the Self-Access Center of the Language Center.
  • Oral part: The written part is complemented by a conversation with a lecturer. Students will receive further information from the tutors at the Self-Access Center on the day of the C-Test.

Both parts of the test can be taken in the Self-Access Center of the Language Center until December 16, 2022.

Alternative option

In case you successfully completed a course of the Language Center in French, Italian, or Spanish during the last two semesters, you can get a corresponding certificate from Christophe Hohwald (French or Italian) or María del Carmen Suñén Bernal (Spanish). Please arrange an appointment with them until December 16, 2022.

English

  • The language placement test for the exchange application is free of charge and will take place 3 times. Students must bring their own WiFi-enabled laptop with a headset. In case you do not have a laptop available, please contact the tutors of our Self-Access Center via slz@leuphana.de.
  • Only those who can prove sufficient competences in all test areas (reading, listening, language elements) can apply for a stay abroad.
  • You will receive the “Language Confirmation for the International Office” or the feedback on the test if the result was not sufficient, during the following week after the test in the Self-Access Center (C 5.104) during the opening hours.

Test dates:

  • Saturday, on November 19, 2022, from 10 to 11 am
  • Saturday, on December 3, 2022, from 10 to 11 am and from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm
  • Saturday, on December 10, from 10 to 11 am and from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm

The tests take place in room C 3.120 and room C 3.121 respectively. The registration is mandatory and begins on November 2, 2022 via this link. As the number of places is limited, we recommend registering as soon as possible.

Alternative options

In case you have successfully completed a course of the Language Center in English during the past two semesters, you can get a certificate from Lynette Kirschner or from the lecturer that offered the course. Please arrange an appointment for this until December 16, 2022.

If you completed one of the following tests with enough points, you can get a corresponding certificate from the Language Center (please make an appointment for this with Lynette Kirschner until December 16, 2022):

For Bachelor students:

  • Internet-based TOEFL with at least 61 points
  • IELTS Academic Version with at least 4,5 points
  • Cambridge B2 First (formerly FCE-Test)
  • Cambridge C1 Advanced (formerly CAE)
  • TOEIC Listening & Reading with at least 650 points
  • TOEIC Speaking & Writing with at least 280 points

For Master students:

  • Internet-based TOEFL with at least 85 points
  • TOEIC with at least 785 points
  • IELTS Academic Version 5.5-Test
  • Cambridge C1 Advanced (formerly CAE)
