LL.M. Competition and Regulation:
Application

We are pleased that you wish to pursue the Competition & Regulation LL.M. Masters programme at the Professional School of Leuphana University of Lüneburg. On this page you will find all of the important information regarding your application.

Please bear in mind that this programme does not qualify you for a student visa due to the short classroom session times.

Application requirements

The application requirements for the Masters programme Competition & Regulation (LL.M.) are:

A degree

An undergraduate university degree in law or business law that qualifies the candidate to work in the field and that has taught in-depth relevant legal knowledge; other degrees in related subjects may also be accepted.

At least one year's relevant professional experience

The following in particular is considered relevant experience:

  • Experience in qualified full-time employment (if applicable also freelance). Employment is deemed qualified if most of the work involved is at the qualification level of the candidate's university degree
  • Experience in a legal traineeship, including its business law aspects
  • Experience from related professional training or
  • Experience from full-time placements, provided they covered business law aspects

Language skills

Candidates must also prove their English skills (for example 92 points in the Internet TOEFL test or comparable scores in other processes).

Start of programme and application deadline

Currently, entrance to the Competition & Regulation LL.M. programme is possible as follows:

  • August 15th for the start of the programme in October (late admission is possible until September 30th)
  • February 15th for the start of the programme in April (late admission is possible until March 31st)

  • Certified copy of the first university-level degree (jurists who have completed a university degree in Germany: 1st state examination; foreign university degrees: please contact programme coordination staff)

Admission

Once we have received your application, you will receive a written confirmation of receipt from us. We will contact you soon thereafter if we need any further documentation. Once your completed application materials have been reviewed, we will inform you - usually in early September - as to whether you have been granted admission to the programme.
