Brexit and Competition Law

With the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU and the expiry of the transition period, the deep legal interdependencies between the EU Commission and the UK competition authority CMA have come to an end. The question arises as to whether and to what extent the legal framework in competition law will develop differently, how the competition authorities within the EU will cooperate with the CMA in the future and what effects the withdrawal will have or already had on procedures and decisions. The Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the EU and the UK will also be examined against this background.
