ACCOMPANYING PROGRAM FOR COOPERATIVE RESEARCH PROJECTS BY STUDENT TEAMS

In all master's programs of the University of Lüneburg, there are courses in which students conduct research cooperatively towards a common issue, be it in a disciplinary, interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary setting. This collaborative research places very specific and diverse demands on students and teachers. In most cases - in the spirit of learning through research - the autonomy of the students is at the center. To support this the Center for Methods has developed an accompanying program that gives support to students in various methodological issues, and that is geared towards deepening of expertise. Workshops are offered on methods of cooperative research, inter- and transdisciplinary methods, research management, research documentation, and gender and diversity. The accompanying program was originally developed for the trans-disciplinary projects in the Master of Sustainability Science program; however, since 2015, the SS program is also open to students of all other Masters programs at Leuphana.

The pilot project of the Masters in Sustainability Science program was presented in 2014 at the Leuphana Salon: Learning and Teaching through Research.
