PURE FOR SCIENCE

What research topics are covered at Leuphana University? Where can I find information on projects and publications? How international is research at Leuphana? The research database Pure, which was introduced at the university in 2011, provides information on such questions. The research index FOX provides access to all public research services of the database.

Searching the database

The Leuphana research index FOX contains several thousand publicly accessible database entries.
Searching by subject area generates hit lists for projects, people, publications and activities for individual disciplines or topics that are covered at Leuphana University.
Open-ended searching by terms generates hit lists for all entries containing the search term in the description or in one of the attached documents.
If you are looking for entries on a particular person, navigate to the index page for persons, enter first and last names, display the hit list for persons and click on "Display entries on this person".

About the Project

The research information system was introduced to document and showcase the University´s research portfolio. It will create a uniform resource coordinated between science and administration for reporting on research at Leuphana. Researchers have the benefit of a range of value-added services such as CV-management, Open Access, website plug-ins, etc. The research index FOX is available to the public as a research tool.

During the introduction of the system, several thousand publications and hundreds of authors previously registered in the university bibliography since 2007 were imported into the new system. Supplemental information relevant to research will be provided by administrative systems. Researchers use their individual user account to register and manage detailed information about their projects, publications and activities. They can rely on a network of trained editors in institutes and centres to support them.

Once registered, the information is available for internal purposes; thus, the number of multiple queries can be reduced. Users may specify separately for each database entry whether it should also be available for the public research catalogue.

A progress report on the introduction of Pure is available for download. An information page for users is available on the intranet for university members.
