Technology and Innovation

"Technology and Innovation" covers activities in research, transfer and teaching from the disciplines of engineering sciences, business and economics, and management. On the basis of a systematic, comprehensive "engineering" approach, work in this field develops innovative solutions that are important not just in terms of technological progress, but also for entrepreneurship and the various sectors of the economy, in particular as regards resource consumption, the reduction of emissions and increasing energy and resource productivity – for example in the context of sustainable product design for the transition to a "green economy". A partnership with the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (HZG) gives researchers and students the opportunity to use the capacity and laboratory resources of the HZG and work with the HZG on new research projects that are not possible at other business faculties.
