From Kyoto to Paris (Projekt)

Inhalt: FROM KYOTO T0 PARIS. The United Nations Climate Change Conference /COP 21/CMP 11 in Paris in December 2015 had the aim to decarbonise the industry strickter than the finished Kyoto protocol. Currently scientists are intensively discussing to the 2 C aim which could be - according to the statement of many leading scientists - an acceptable limit of the global warming on the Earth. However, interactively operating forcing power can increase the speed of climate change not only to the end of the century but also in the following years. What could be the consequences and how can we protect human daily life? Are the warm temperatures of this winter random phenomena or the result of the high CO2 concentration in the atmosphere? What are the time intervals of the adaptation measures in the land scape changes, in the water supply system, and in the agriculture and forestry? Are tropical diseases a real threat? For Europe the main question is: where are the roots of currenct refugies move and what can we learn to the future?

Nachhaltige Abfallwirtschaft - Einführung und Übungen (Seminar)

Inhalt: Die Veranstaltung wird als transdisziplinäres Projekt über zwei Semester durchgeführt. Im SS 2016 werden Grundlagen erarbeitet und die genauen Fragestellungen für drei Teilprojekte erarbeitet. Im WS 2016/17 erfolgt die praktische Durchführung samt Auswertung. Die Projekte wurden bereits im WS 2015/16 vorgestellt (siehe Materialliste). In den Projekten haben wir mit der GFA in Bardowick, der AGL in Lüneburg und der Bürgerstiftung St. Nikolai Praxispartner. Die praktischen Arbeiten finden u.a. bei der GFA (Abfallsortierung...), der AGL (Stoffstromanalyse) sowie in Stadt bzw. Kreis (Befragung von Abfallerzeugern) statt. Wegen zahlreicher Fragen der Umweltkommunikation ist Herr Dr. Fischer beteiligt. Unterstützung bei der Aufnahme der Stoffströme erhalten wir von Herrn Prof. Dr. Möller.

Projekt 1: Sustainability communication in the LCA community FSLCI (Projekt)

Inhalt: The focus of this project is on sustainability communication and the support of communities. The application domain is the life cycle community (not life cycle assessment as a method). The name of the LCA community is FSLCI (https://fslci.org/). The vision of FSLCI is “a sustainable global society where Life Cycle approaches are established and decision makers have fully integrated them into their regular decision making processes” (FSLCI 2015). Members come from industry, public administration (at the global, regional, national and sub-national level), universities,...: “The association connects politics, science, practice and the general public on the international level in order to achieve more sustainable production processes and consumption patterns. By doing so, the association contributes to the creation, preservation and enhancement of global sustainable living conditions for humans, animals and natural vegetation” (FSLCI 2015). Because FSLCI is a platform on a global level, FSLCI provides different communication infrastructures: support for conferences, meetings and workshops, trainings, a jobs portal and a speakers and experts directory. Of course, FSLCI already uses web-1.0 and web-2.0 based web services including Tweets and Blogs. However, there is still no communication strategy behind that allows establishing an optimal internet-based communication infrastructure with different interrelated components and links to already existing social networks.

Projekt 3: Chancen für eine integrierte Flüchtlingspolitik (Projekt)

Inhalt: Welche Voraussetzungen muss die derzeitige Flüchtlingspolitik erfüllen, damit sie langfristig erfolgreich wirksam sein kann? Die aktuelle Flüchtlingspolitik ist im Wesentlichen auf eine emotionale Entscheidung der Bundeskanzlerin entstanden. Ein Konzept lag dem nicht zugrunde. - Die in Politik, Verwaltung und Wirtschaft stehgen nun vor der Herausforderung, das daraufhin entstandene große Durcheinander in geordnete, nachhaltig wirksame Bahnen zu lenken. Betroffen sind von den vier Dimensionen der Nachhaltigkeit - außer der Ökologie - Ökonomie, Soziales und Kultur (Bildung). Sie werden von Politik, Institutionen und Freiwilligen gestaltet. Dies geschieht vor allem nach der traditionellen Methode, nach der die einzelnen Systeme (z.B. Politik, Recht, Gesundheit, Soziales und Bildung) als 'Säulen' getrennt voneinander wirken. Dieser Befund wird durch die These unterstrichen: 'Wir sind nicht in der Lage, langfristig zu denken, planen und handeln' (Plewig 2015). Dies erhöht das Risiko, dass gesellschaftliche Konflikte über ein Normalmaß hinaus verschärft werden, erheblich. Zu entwickeln ist hinsichtlich dieser 'Komplexleistung' eine integrierte Sicherheitspolitik (Familie; Kinder/Jugendliche; Soziales; Inneres). Gefordert sind deshalb Integrierte Konzepte. Dafür müssen - auf der Basis einer qualifizierten umfassenden Analyse - die notwendigen Ressourcen bereitgestellt werden. Die materiellen Mittel blieben aber mehr oder weniger unwirksam, wenn die Verantwortlichen dies nicht umsetzen können. Gefordert ist also außerdem eine Veränderung im Denken und Handeln (Sozialpsychologie).

Projekt 5: Harmonising food security and biodiversity conservation (Projekt)

Inhalt: Ensuring food security for a growing human population and halting biodiversity decline are two of the most significant challenges of the 21st century. The two challenges are interrelated in numerous ways. Because of this, this seminar addresses the intersection of food security and biodiversity conservation through a social-ecological systems perspective.

Transdisziplinäres Projekt: Renaturierung der Neetze (Projekt)

Transformation regional gestalten – Interventionen für einen nachhaltigen Einzelhandel (Projekt)

Dozent/in: Philip Bernert, Philip Luthardt

Inhalt: Der Einzelhandel steht vor großen Herausforderungen: Die Globalisierung sowie die Digitalisierung und der damit verbundene rasant wachsende Onlinehandel, aber auch immer stärker steigende Mieten verdrängen zunehmend kleine inhabergeführte Einzel-handelsgeschäfte aus den Innenstädten. Zugleich steigt die Nachfrage nach regionalen Produkten. Auf Grundlage von Transformations- und Interventionsforschung sowie Best-Practice Beispielen konzipiert ihr im Seminar in transdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit mit Einzelhändler_innen eine Nachhaltigkeitsintervention für den Lüneburger Einzelhandel. Dabei entwickelt ihr ein Verständnis für die Rolle des Einzelhandels bei der Gestaltung einer regionalen Nachhaltigen Entwicklung. Für die transdisziplinäre Entwicklung der Intervention lernt ihr Methoden wie Nudging und Best-Practice Beispiele wie den 10%-Shift der nordamerikanischen Local Living Economies kennen.
