Inhalt: This course provides an overview of the core of mathematical and statistical methods that are necessary for quantitative analyses in public economics, law, and politics. Issues covered include the essentials in calculus (e.g. functions, derivatives, optimisation), in inferential statistics (e.g. random variables, estimation of parameters, testing of hypotheses), and in regression analysis (e.g. linear regression models, ordinary least squares estimation, causal inference).
