Inhalt: Die Veranstaltung betrachtet zunächst grundlegende Konzepte der Konjunkturtheorie und Konjunkturpolitik. Thematisiert werden die Folgen starker konjunktureller Schwankungen für Wohlstand, Beschäftigung und Verteilung. Ausgehend von diesen Konzepten werden die grundlegenden wirtschaftspolitischen Optionen für eine Stabilisierung der konjunkturellen Entwicklung diskutiert und hinsichtlich ihrer Praktikabilität in unterschiedlichen Krisensituationen betrachtet. Abschließend werden besondere Krisen wie die Corona-Krise, die aktuelle Energiekrise oder die große Depression der 1930er Jahre diskutiert. Dabei soll auch heraus gearbeitet werden, inwiefern die klassische Konjunkturpolitik geeignet ist, alle Folgen derartiger Einschnitte zu kompensieren.
