Empowering women (Seminar)

Dozent/in: Agnieszka Turska-Kawa

Termin:
14-täglich | Donnerstag | 10:15 - 11:45 | 06.04.2026 - 10.07.2026 | C 7.319 Seminarraum

Inhalt: This course is an invitation to think seriously about empowerment—not as a motivational slogan, but as a complex psychological, social, and political process. We will analyze where women's agency comes from, why it can be systemically blocked, and what makes it flourish in some contexts and fade in others, despite "good intentions." The course combines psychology, leadership, and social practice. We are interested not only in what limits women, but also in how these limitations are internalized. At the same time, we examine strategies that help women (individually and collectively) regain their voice, autonomy, and influence. This course is based on concrete experiences and methods. Classes include work with academic texts, workshops, and discussions.
