Distribution, degradation and effects of chemicals in the environment (Übung)

Inhalt: After their input into the environment, chemical substances are subject to distribution and are either not degraded at all, partially degraded or completely degraded. If they are not completely degraded, they can have effects on humans and organisms in the environment. Different standard methods for the investigation of environmentally relevant processes along the life cycle of chemical substances will be deepened in practical exercises. In addition, data on the degradation behaviour of substances will be collected from databases in computer exercises or predicted using computer models (QSAR) and compared with experimentally collected data.

Environmental Soil Science (Seminar)

Inhalt: Geologisch-bodenkundliche Grundlagen werden vermittelt. Dabei werden bodenbildende Ausgangsgesteine, Faktoren und Prozesse der Bodenbildung und Grundlagen der Bodenchemie, Bodenphysik und Bodenbiologie ebenso wie die Herausbildung von Bodentypen und deren Eigenschaften, Nutzung und Schutz behandelt. Gleichzeitig sollen in der Übung praktische Erfahrungen mit der Einordnung und Analyse von Bodentypen und deren Umwelteigenschaften gewonnen werden. This module deals with the basic principles of soil science. Topics include: soil-forming parent material; the factors and processes of soil formation; basic soil chemistry, physics and biology; and the formation and properties of different soil types, soil use and soil protection. Concurrently, the exercise aims at gaining experience in the classification and analysis of soil types and their environmental properties.

Ökosysteme und Lebensgemeinschaften (Vorlesung)

Inhalt: Die Vorlesung vermittelt Grundlagen der Ökologie und Artengemeinschaften mitteleuropäischer Ökosysteme (u.a. Wälder, Küsten, Stillgewässer, Auen, Moore, Heiden, Grasländer, Äcker, urbane Lebensräume) und gibt einen Überblick über ihre Gefährdung und ihren Schutz.

Ökosysteme und Lebensgemeinschaften - Freilandübung (Übung)

Dozent/in: Andreas Fichtner, Werner Härdtle, Johannes Prüter

Inhalt: Die Freilandübung vermittelt Grundkenntnisse zur Ökologie und den lebensraumtypischen Arten wichtiger Ökosysteme. Geobotanische Methoden zur Beurteilung von standortökologischen Zusammenhängen werden vorgestellt. Darüber hinaus werden am Beispiel ausgewählter FFH-Lebensraumtypen regionale Naturschutzmaßnahmen und Renaturierungsansätze vorgestellt und diskutiert.
