International Summer and Winter Universities

Many universities around the world offer summer and winter schools during their semester breaks. These stays usually last one to six weeks and, in addition to subject and/or language courses, usually also include a wide range of leisure and cultural activities. Subject courses that you complete as part of international summer and winter schools may be credited at Leuphana. Participation in summer and winter schools must be borne by your own funds.

  • AU Summer University is offering more than 100 courses in total within most academic areas in 2023. As all teaching is research-based, courses have a strong academic foundation. All courses are planned to take place on campus.

  • Fees: The course fee varies, as it depends on whether you are an EU citizen or not, the level and the amount of ECTS credits. You can find fee information on each course page. Fee example: 687 EUR for a 10 ECTS Business or Management course (1717 EUR if you are non-EU).
  • Cost of living: Estimated budget for one month stay in Aarhus: approx. 1000 EUR. This estimate includes housing, living costs, transport, books and social programme, but excluding possible course fee.

HONG KONG: Lingnan University: Summer Institute 2023

The Summer Institute 2023 consists of 2 sessions:
Session 1: 1 June – 13 July 2023
Session 2: 18 July – 4 August 2023

Exchange students can take courses from Session 1 and 2 jointly but they can take a maximum of TWO courses throughout Sessions 1 and 2. Students are advised to consult their academic advisors at home institution regarding their course selection at Lingnan University and double check for the class schedule before submitting their initial course plans.
 
Eligibility
All nominated students have to fulfill the following academic requirements for the exchange programme:

  • Have completed at least 2 terms of full-time study but not in the final-year-final-semester at home institution
  • A cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5 (on a 4-point scale) or above
  • For non-English native speaker, a TOEFL score of 213 (computer-based), 550 (paper-based) or 79 (internet-based), or an IELTS (Academic Module) score of 6.0 is required. We also accept a TOEIC score of 750 with a supporting letter# from partner institution or a TOEFL ITP score of 550 with a supporting letter# from partner institution.
  • A recommendation letter by home institution (in English, from faculty or the International Office) with comments on why the student is recommended for our exchange programme. Individual recommendation letter is expected for each applicant.

TAIWAN: National Central University: Summer Program

  • 2.-21. July 2023
  • courses in different academic fields and an intensive program of classroom lectures for Chinese language learning
  • A 3-day cultural trip is arranged in the program. Students will explore famous Taiwan attractions and experience the Taiwan local culture. Taiwan is a small, volcanic island, which means travelers will never be too far from either towering mountain ranges or gorgeous beaches along the ocean.
  • The NCU Summer Program is designed to be equivalent to:
    2-credit, 3-week program (equivalent to 36 hours)
    3-credit, 3-week program (equivalent to 54 hours)
    8-credit, 5-week program (equivalent to 144 hours)

TURKEY Marmara University: Youth Istanbul Project 2023

  • 11.-18. March 2023
  • The theme for our project is giving the participants a chance to learn more about political and academic life in Istanbul while being a part of the international community.
  • YIP'23 will be within the theme of "Law and Business". Participants of this year will have a chance to work on various and innovative topics including but not limited to, entrepreneurship, transparency, sustainability and management. Participants will not spend time only listening to guest lecturers but also taking an active role in workshops.
  • YIP is available for students who study at the bachelor of art (law, political science, etc.) and master's students
  • All sessions will be held in the English language during the week. At the same time, the YIP’23 team will arrange cultural trips around Istanbul and the participants will be able to explore Istanbul’s historical and mystic character.
