New selection of e-books from Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press and Routledge
2023-08-23
Since August 1, you can benefit from our extended e-book offer: MIZ has licensed approximately 7,000 titles from the publisher Oxford Scholarship Online for one year in addition to the titles that were already acquired. The titles are part of the fields of Law, Political Science, and Sociology. Since September 1, you also have access to a full 40,000 titles from the Humanities & Social Science Collection of Cambridge Books Online for one year. The new offer is completed by the activation of approximately 17,000 current titles from Routledge from the publication year 2020 onwards, from the Humanities & Social Sciences area. This will start on September 15th.
The MIZ has acquired the annual licenses within the framework of the so-called EBS model (Evidence Based Selection): In this model, a number of e-books previously determined according to certain criteria are made available for a defined period of time in exchange for an upfront payment. At the end of the period, the library decides by means of usage statistics which e-books will be purchased permanently. All other e-books are then no longer available, but new acquisition proposals can of course be submitted at any time. If usage is very good, the respective EBS will be extended, if possible.
The library maintains other EBS models with the publishers de Gruyter, Pearson, Springer, Vahlen, Nomos, and Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht. In addition, Leuphana has access to e-books from many other publishers, all of which you can find as usual with our literature search engine LUX.
