Summer School: Competence days for young female scientists

Since 2016, the mentoring team offers annual competence days for young female scientists in cooperation with the Graduate School. While the competence days were initially designed as a “Summer School”, they were converted into a Spring School in 2020. In addition to workshops and lectures, the competence days offer a platform for addressing gender codes in the scientific system and the resulting conditions for women’s different career paths. They also give participants the opportunity to discover professional and research-oriented interests or synergies and to build networks with other female doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers. Participation is open to all young female scientists of Leuphana University Lüneburg.

Competence Days 2021 - Summer School

The summer school for female PhD students and postdoc researchers at Leuphana University is dedicated to the topics of career planning and career development from a gender-specific perspective.

For academic and professional success it is important to deal with personal career options early on, to establish networks and contacts and to develop not only academic but also interdisciplinary skills - regardless of whether you would like to work in the academic or non-academic field. The workshops will take place online and in part also on campus.
