Dr. Florian Hoof 

Postdoc of the Institute for Advanced Study - Media Cultures of Computer Simulation (MECS) 


Dr. Florian Hoof holds a Post-Doc position at the Institute for Advanced Studies on Media Cultures of Computer Simulation (MECS). His PhD thesis «Angels of Efficiency. A Media History of Consulting, 1880-1930» was funded by a grand of the German National Academic Foundation. He was guest professor at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milano; scientist in residence at the Department of History of Technology at the Swiss Institute of Technology, Zurich; visiting scholar at the Archives and Special Collection Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana and research assistant at the Department of Media Studies, Ruhr-University Bochum. His research interests include Industrial and Sport Films, Production Studies, Historical Epistemology, Science and Technology Studies and History of Media Technology.
