SUMMARY:Keeping your talk fresh - Storytelling Techniques for Scientific Pr
 esentations
DESCRIPTION:Goals:This is an activity-based workshop, led by a theatre prof
 essional, whose expertise is in eliciting the researchers’ narrative, ident
 ifying the speaker's authenticity as a storyteller and supporting the speak
 er to effectively communicate the importance and relevance of the work and 
 the core message in the talk. Participants learn narrative techniques, prac
 tice telling stories and integrate these techniques into their talk. The se
 minar provides participants the opportunity to connect a narrative to their
  core research, build the story, create suspense and anchor points of refer
 ence throughout the talk with their story. Additionally, they will learn to
  develop a protagonist and learn how to "chunk" or segment units of action 
 in the talk.\n\nContent Outline:•    Position the research with a meaningfu

 h a strong opening to get the audience involved•    Create clear and identi
 fiable characters and environment•    Build suspense with the narrative and

 ializing in kinesthetic communication and presentation techniques, helping 
 professionals and academics to give convincing and motivating oral presenta
 tions at international conferences, meetings and lectures. With a rich back
 ground in theatre, he provides techniques to strengthen and support effecti
 ve speaking, corporal and vocal training, and interpersonal communication s
 kills.\n\nPlease note:\n\nThis is an event organized by the Graduate Academ
