We investigate the influence of goals, plans, and self-regulation on changes in people’s cognition, emotion, and behavior. We examine these topics in diverse domains, including achievement, individual and collective decision making, and physical and mental health. Recently, we explore the effects of envy on people’s perceptions and decisions in interpersonal and group contexts.
