The Team of Motivation and General Psychology aims to build a bridge between research and practice. We are committed to effective knowledge transfer by making our research useful and insightful for practice. This becomes particularly visible in our research projects on self-regulation of goal pursuit and emotions (e.g., envy). The aim is to enable people to engage in effective goal pursuit and make sustainable decisions in the face of challenges and difficulties. The principles of self-regulation discovered in our studies are applied to various life domains such as health, education, families, and work and organizations. Furthermore, we engage in activities that are geared toward transferring scientific insights to practice by offering workshops, lectures, interviews, consultations, and book chapters, which can benefit people from all levels of society.
