SUMMARY:Inverting the course - Competence-Oriented Active Learning in the F
 lipped Classroom
DESCRIPTION:This course has two asynchronous and two synchronous phases, yo
u will find the exact dates in the description below.\n\n The Flipped Class
room opens up possibilities for competence-oriented active learning in lect
ures and other teaching formats by inverting the usual activities inside an
d outside a course. The passive reception of teaching content is shifted to
the individual preparation phase of a course. The class phases of a course
  – whether as a physical class or in synchronous digital teaching – systema
tically build on the competences and questions acquired by the students in
preparation phases. The classes thus serve to apply and deepen the acquired
knowledge as well as to develop more sophisticated competences. This intro
ductory workshop deals with the conceptual foundations and the practical im
plementation of active learning in the Flipped Classroom. As part of the wo
rkshop, participants develop a concept for their own flipped learning unit.
Workshop objective: At the end, participants will be able to design course
s and learning units following the flipped classroom concept, formulate com
petence-oriented teaching-learning objectives and select appropriate teachi
ng methods for preparation and class phases. Contents of the Workshops:\n
\n Introduction to and definition of the Flipped Classrom The evidence ba
se of the Flipped Classroom Methods and materials for asynchronous teachin
g Methods and materials for synchronous teaching Planning your own Flippe
d Classroom unit by: a) formulating competence goals, b) selecting asynchro
nous methods for the preparation phase, c) selecting synchronous methods fo
r the class phase Discussion of teaching concepts in small groups and mutu
al feedback Joint meta-reflection on the opportunities and challenges of F
lipped Classroom. 	  \n\nTarget group: This workshop is aimed at professor
s, teachers for special tasks, lecturers and academic staff who are active
in teaching but have little or no previous experience with the Flipped Clas
sroom. The coach:\n\nPD Dr. Daniel Lambach is a political scientist and h
as worked as a higher education coach since 2015. Further information at ht
 tps://www.daniel-lambach.de/hochschuldidaktik/.\n\n Date/Time: The workshop
will take place in the form of two asynchronous and two synchronous parts,
thereby following the Flipped Classroom format itself. The asynchronous pa
rts are self-study phases that will be completed in a Moodle room. The sync
hronous parts take place via Zoom. 1) Asynchronous phase (20 February to 5
  March 2023) 2) Synchronous phase (6 March 2023, 9.30-12.30) 3) Asynchronou
 s phase (7-12 March 2023) 4) Synchronous phase (13 March 2023, 9.30-12.30)\
