DESCRIPTION:Collecting and organizing references, creating literature lists
  or inserting references and bibliographies into a paper are all part of ac
 ademic writing. Reference management programs are helpful tools that can ma
 ke these tasks much easier. Zotero is a reference management program that g
 rew out of the open-source movement. The desktop version runs on Windows, M
 ac, and Linux computers.\n\nIn this short introduction, an experienced coll
 eague will demonstrate how to save search results from catalogs and databas
 es directly into Zotero, how to attach and annotate PDFs, and how to transf
 er the collected references into your paper. \n\nFor the demonstration, the
  following systems/programs will be used:\n\nWindows 10 or higherZotero 8 f
 or WindowsFirefox or ChromeMS Word for Windows or LibreOffice\n\nThe main p
 art of the event will run until 3:15 p.m. After that, there will be a Q&A s
 ession until 3:45 p.m.\n\nEveryone who is interested is welcome to attend. 
 Please register for the workshop. It will only take place if there are a mi
 nimum number of registrations. Zoom log-in details will be provided on the 
 day of the event.\n\nIf you would like to actively follow the demonstration
 , please install the program before the event. Installation instructions ca
 n be found below under “Documents” or on the Zotero website: https://www.zo
 tero.org/support/installation. Unfortunately, there will be no time to trou
 bleshoot installation problems during the training itself.No prior knowledg
 e is necessary; the event is specifically aimed at beginners.
