Digital Entrepreneurship (Seminar)

Dozent/in: Ines Lietzke-Prinz, Hannes Petrowsky, Clara Scheve, Jan Tänzler, Nils Johann Tschoppe

Termin:
14-täglich | Donnerstag | 08:15 - 11:45 | 08.04.2021 - 08.07.2021 | Online-Veranstaltung

Inhalt: Digital enterpreneurship concerns the digital technology-driven discovery, creation, and exploitation of opportunities bringing about new products, services, and business models (Nambisan, 2016; Shane, 2012; Venkataraman, 1997). In this view, digital technologies may be at the heart of a new product (e.g. a new app) or be critical to the pursuit of an opportunity (e.g. small family-firm using a webbased platform such as Amazon or Etsy as a key distribution channel for a [nondigital] product). In this course, students get an insight into the topic of digital entrepreneurship. In small teams, the students develop solutions to real problems in the field of digitization of small and medium-sized companies in the region of Lüneburg.

Entrepreneurship in a data-driven economy: Examining the challenges and opportunities of data-driven business models and innovations (Seminar)

Dozent/in: Monika Imschloß

Termin:
14-täglich | Donnerstag | 08:15 - 11:45 | 08.04.2021 - 01.07.2021 | Online-Veranstaltung

Inhalt: This seminar comprises three major pillars: i) Theoretical and practical foundation: Discussion and understanding of challenges and opportunities of data-driven business models from a theoretical as well as practical perspective. ii) Methodological foundation: To understand the value of data from a customer-perspective, it is necessary to acquire knowledge about the methods that firms can use to obtain this knowledge. Therefore, this seminar includes a basic overview of methods suitable for identifying why or to what extent passing on data matters to customers. iii) Application of theoretical, practical, and methodological knowledge: Designing and analyzing your own experiment or working on a practical case in a group of students to obtain insights on how data can be used for data-driven business models and innovations.
