Inhalt: This course provides an overview of the statistical methods that are required for quantitative analyses in economics and political science. It introduces the essential tools that permit estimating causal effects (rather than mere correlations) from observational data. Contents: 1. Review of linear regression 2. Decomposition methods for linear regression 3. Instrumental variables regression 4. Linear regression with panel data 5. Differences-in-differences estimation 6. Regression for categorical outcomes
