Computer Science Day 2023: The use of AI in the classroom

2023-09-05 Lüneburg. On September 14, the Lüneburg Forum for Computer Science in Schools (LÜFINS) will be hosting Computer Science Day at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Students from grades 8 to 13 can then "try out computer science" in various workshops. This year, around 120 students from 10 schools are taking part.

Leuphana's business computer scientists have put together an interesting program. In four workshops and a team contest, the young people will deal with topics such as web design, programming and how artificial intelligence works. In a team competition, they will make suggestions for a sensible use of ChatGBT in the school environment. In his introductory lecture, Prof. Dr. Ulf Brefeld will talk about "Computer Science in Changing Times".

Leuphana is not only committed to the next generation of computer scientists on Computer Science Day: it is also committed to the digital empowerment of young people in the Data Club Lüneburg. This joint project, coordinated by Leuphana, brings together stakeholders in computer science education with young people, offers school concepts and aims to give young people an easy entry into the world of IT.
