Presidential Committee and Senate reaffirm their commitment to liberal democracy

Lüneburg. Against the background of the strengthening of anti-democratic efforts, the Presidential Committee and the Senate of Leuphana University Lüneburg welcome initiatives that stand up for democracy, freedom and the rule of law and against racism. We reaffirm the declarations of the German Rectors' Conference and the State University Conference of Lower Saxony of January 2024, which emphasize the fundamental importance of liberal democracy and the rule of law for the community in Germany in general and academic freedom in particular.
