Admissions Requirements

The program of study is directed toward all university graduates who

  • have completed first university studies and consequently hold a first university degree,
  • have at least one year of qualified professional experience and
  • have advanced English language skills

The following tests will be accepted:

  • TOEFL, IBT min. 92 points
  • IELTS (Academic version) min. 6.5 points
  • CAE or CPE: Level C1, Grade B
  • TOEIC 4 skills test: min. 720 points in listening and reading and 310 points in speaking and writing

Start date & deadline

Enrolment in the Governance and Human Rights program takes place once a year. The application deadline is July 15th for the study start in September.

Application Materials

  • Online application
  • Language certificate as proof of the sophisticated English language skills
  • Certified copy of university degree
  • Certificates or other evidence (e.g. reference letters) of professional experience

Matriculation

After we have received your application, you will receive written confirmation. If additional documents are required, we will contact you promptly. Once your complete application has been reviewed, you will be informed whether you have been accepted to the program — at the latest four weeks before the start of the semester.

If you are admitted to the program, the enrollment process includes:

  • Receiving and completing the enrollment documents
  • Payment of the semester contribution for the first semester (currently approximately €240)
  • Issuance of your official student documents and student ID

Once you have received your admission documents, you may apply for a Schengen visa if required (many nationalities do not require a visa for short stays). This allows you to participate in the on-campus phases in Lüneburg, which are typically held in September (exact dates are announced in advance).

Due to the distance-learning format, a student visa is not required for the program.
