The Institute of Banking, Finance & New Venture at the School of Management and Technology of the Leuphana University of Lüneburg consists of the Professorship for Business Studies, in particular Business Financing (Prof. Dr. Baxmann), the Professorship for Financing and Finance (Prof. Dr. Degenhart) and the Professorship for Business Administration, in Particular Business Start-Ups (Prof. Dr. Schulte).

Research

Research foci and projects of the institute's divisions are:

  • Banking and Finance: structural issues and other current developments in the banking industry, financial management, creditor relations, as well as dissertation and postdoctoral projects based on these. In addition, the North German Banking Day is held annually and financial services workshops are held at irregular intervals.
  • Financing and Finance: The research focus of the chair is on corporate and structured finance and related issues of capital market financing from a corporate and banking perspective. On the other hand, topics in the area of financing energy and environmental projects are dealt with.

Teaching

The Institute is significantly involved in teaching in various Bachelor and Master programs.
The ICFTU is represented in the Bachelor's program in the major "Business Administration" with relevant modules in the basic area and in the specialization "Finance and Accounting" as well as in the minor "Business Administration".
In addition, there are further courses within the framework of the Master's program "Management & Finance & Accounting".
In addition, students in the Bachelor's and Master's programs are supported in the preparation of their final theses with courses in the "Bachelor Colloquium" and the "Master Forum".
