Equipment
The Professorship of Production Engineering has two laboratories with machines for mapping the main forming processes. The focus of the investigations lies on the design of products and processes with regard to sustainability. To this end, the forming processes of extrusion, incremental sheet forming, deep drawing and wire drawing are supplemented by other processes such as laser deposition welding. State-of-the-art testing machines can be used in material characterisation to determine the material properties. Parts and prototype production is made possible by the extensive workshop equipment.
The use of these laboratories in the context of projects with other institutions, business and industry as well as for the contract manufacturing of individual parts / prototypes and small series is possible on request.
