International incoming students get to know Leuphana

Language and Orientation Program

2024-03-26

About 75 international students are currently taking part in our four-week language and orientation program. Many of them come from our partner universities in Europe and overseas, such as South Korea, Taiwan or Japan. Others are already studying at Leuphana – in the Bachelor's or (Joint) Master's programs or the PhD program.

In the mornings, the participants attend intensive German courses. In the afternoons, they can explore their new surroundings together. There are a lot of excursions offered like a town hall reception,  city tours as well as to a trip to Hamburg and a three-day trip to Berlin.

In addition, the International Center's team of tutors helps all newly arrived international students with the necessary formalities, such as registering their place of residence or applying for a residence permit. So, they do not need to go to the authorities alone. All students are offered help so they can quickly take care of everyday necessities such as opening a bank account.

Finally the international students explore the campus with the International Center team and learn to navigate the campus management system.

The International Center also offers numerous events during the semester that are open to all interested parties.
