Meet Our Researchers

Three questions for ... Hanna Homann

Doctoral Research Group: Professionalisation Research

Contact: hanna-sophie.homann@leuphana.de

1. "And what are you writing about again?" At a flat-sharing party, how would you summarise your research project in three sentences without using technical terms?

1. About how to make teachers better, healthier and happier teachers.
2. How student teachers feel during their practical semester, what stresses them and what strengthens them during this time.
3. how to do something to strengthen student teachers mentally during this time so that they feel better and, above all, learn something about themselves that will help them when they actually enter the profession.

2. "Writings the world desperately needs!" To what extent does your dissertation fill existing research gaps in the professional community?

It follows on from the topic of mental health in the practical semester and what it takes to preventively prepare students for the stressful everyday working life as a teacher.

3. What links do you see to your dissertation topic in practice?

My research ties in with the consideration of mental health in the design and curriculum of the practical semester, especially in the teaching degree programme at Leuphana.
