Vita

Beatrice John is currently guest researcher at Leuphana at the Faculty of Sustainability. Her interests, work as research associate, and her PhD at Leuphana University Lüneburg focused on visioning and experimenting, particularly by using digital environments as tools to develop participatory sustainable urban futures.

From 2012 to 2016 Beatrice was project coordinator, researcher, and instructor in the Global Classroom project, a partnership between Arizona  State University and Leuphana University in Germany with the goal of developing an model curriculum for sustainability in higher education and a digitalized teaching-learning environment for real world challenges of the 21st century. Until 2019 she worked in „Bridging the Great Divide“ on pre-testing sustainability solution in digital semi-immersive environments.

Since 2019 Beatrice John is project coordinator in Boizenburg/Elbe, the city partner in the research project „GoingVis“ (BMBF Leitinitiative Zukunftsstadt). Her work revolves around the local participatory processes for climate adaptation, named PLATZ-B.
